Major Project Underway!
If you saw my latest video, you’ll have seen my car for the first time in a long while and probably noticed my not-so-subtle hints about some major projects underway. These include the overhauled and updated GMR supercharger kit, a set of BC Racing coilovers, the newly-released Infotainment Upgrade Kit with an HD Nav Screen from Aston Installations, a VelocityAP “Touring” muffler, a full set of Powerflex control arm bushings and sway bar bushings, and a few other things I’ll announce once I finalize plans for them.
While working on part of this major overhaul I realized that my car was coming up on 15 years old and had nearly 100,000 miles on it, and it’s in surprisingly good condition compared to what I’ve put it through. This led me to create a video and web page about the reliability of my car. I’ll continue to update the information in that Article as things progress with the car.
I’ll be making more videos about the various parts of my project as I’m able to get to them, including the products I listed above as well as a variety of other topics that may be of interest to everyone.
Another video I worked on recently was about one of ECPS’s project cars, which ECPS uploaded to their YouTube channel. It covers a variety of their products that they installed on their new project car while I was visiting them in Poland.
Beyond that, I got a bunch of work done on the Redpants website. In addition to the stuff linked above, I wrote an Article about exhaust modifications, created a new Information page covering the various front grilles used on Gaydon-era Aston Martins, and expanded the information in the Information pages for Exhaust Systems, Terminology, and my Buyer’s Guide (although that one still needs a lot of work).
I’m also slowly getting work done on Redpants Unzipped to get it ready to relaunch, but that one’s slow-going since it’s a low priority and I’ve been so busy with everything else going on.
New Product Listings
Aston Installation’s new Infotainment Upgrade Kits with HD screens are now available. There are different ones depending on whether your navigation system is Volvo-based or Garmin-based. The upgraded HD screen is a requirement for Volvo-based systems but optional for Garmin-based systems. Each product listing goes into more detail so make sure you read the entire listings in case you’re interested.
GMR’s revamped supercharger kits are ready to order! After a long hiatus due to changing manufacturers and redesigning the kits, they’re finally back. There are now two primary options available: A “Dry” version and a “Wet” version. The dry version does not have water injection while the Wet version does. There are different listings depending on whether you have a 4.3L V8, an earlier 4.7L V8, or a later 4.7L V8. I’ve got lots of information in each of the product listings so make sure you check those out. I’m also happy to answer any questions if you’d like to order one.
