Price Drops and Sales
With the British pound dropping against the US dollar, I realized that there was a lot of room to reduce pricing in some of the higher-price items. I set a few of those on sale starting with the GMR Supercharger Kits and then followed those with Infotainment Upgrade Kits from Aston Installations, both of which I have listed in my Promotions page. I quietly added a few higher-priced items to the discounted Sale pricing roster but then realized that I could drop prices on my UK-sourced items across the board to reflect current exchange rates.
I’ve gone through and recalculated quite a few of the other items on the website and adjusted prices accordingly. Prices from Aston Martin have gone up for nearly everything, but the better exchange rates have still resulted in price reductions of around 5-10% for most things.
At the same time, I created a couple coupon codes for BC Forged wheels and BC Racing coilovers. I already have an automatic discount of 10% off the pair when ordered together, but now have a separate 5% discount using a coupon code if only ordering one or the other. Check the Promotions page for information about the coupon codes (they are required when ordering and they will expire).
In Other News
I’ll be out of town for some family matters the last week of September. I’ll do my best to keep up with emails during that time. It’ll be a bit of a rough trip for me so I’m looking at a few promotional things to do so I can at least come home to some nice sales. I’ve already created the coupon codes for the BC Forged wheels and BC Racing coilovers as part of that, which is why the promotion ends a couple days after I return. I’m sure I’ll have another coupon code or two, and they’ll expire at the same time.
A huge Thank You to those of you that have pre-ordered a Redpants Catch Can Kit! Yes, these are in production and I just got an update from the manufacturer this morning that the components for the cans are finished and are beginning assembly into the finished product. These will ship as soon as we get them - my shippers will send them out regardless of whether or not I’m out of town on the aforementioned family business.
The platform I use for hosting the Redpants website published a major “upgrade” which of course led to a lot of my existing website having issues. I’ve been working tirelessly to get it fixed but it’s still taking forever. It’s taken most of my time the last couple of weeks and I still have a ways to go. If you see any webpages that have scrambled content or broken formatting, I am aware of it and I’m fixing it as quickly as I can. But, that’s why things are broken on the website.
Not-Quite-Monthly Update
Since the website reformatting will take me much of next week, and I’ll be going to the US to see my family the following week, I probably won’t get much else done before the end of the month. So, here’s the would-be next Monthly Update.
As mentioned above, there are some new coupon codes for BC Forged wheels and BC Racing coilovers, plus price reductions of 5-10% for many other items. If the pricing for GMR Supercharger Kits and Aston Installations Infotainment Upgrades hasn’t been adjusted yet, you’ll see it’s still listed as “on sale” but those prices will be staying in place as part of the other exchange rate price drops.
I’ve written and published an article about a customer’s car - Jay’s Super Sleeper 2006 V8 Vantage. It’s very much a sleeper (meaning, it packs way more power than it looks to have) as it has been minimally modified on the outside and there aren’t any major changes to the cabin, so it looks like a fairly standard 4.3L V8 Vantage. And yet… it’s supercharged. Make sure you check it out in the Builds section for Jay’s car and others.
Lastly, I’ve published a new DIY Guide showing how to change the exhaust manifolds on a V8 Vantage. This is by no means an easy job but it’s doable with the right tools (especially mid-depth sockets, wobble joints, and extensions!!) and if you’re used to handling annoyingly tight spaces - you’re basically trying to maneuver and torque fasteners inside a bowl of metal spaghetti.
And again, I’ve spent a ton of time trying to fix my website after the changes to the platform that broke page content arrangements, formatting, and even color schemes… It’s a work in progress.
