The holiday season is upon us which means there’s a lot going on for everyone.
Possible Shipping Delays
Given the massive amount of mail and packages sent this time of year, all postal and shipping carriers in the US are experiencing delays due to overwhelming demand. There are further delays due to holiday closures, and also the potential for adverse whether to complicate shipments to or through some areas. So, please keep in mind that shipping and deliveries may be slower than would be during the rest of the year.
Redpants will still be processing and shipping orders during this time, but not on a daily basis so it may take an extra day or two before an order ships out. Shipments from our suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers may be delayed based on each of their own schedules.
Order and Shipping Confirmation Emails
Every once in a while I would get a complaint from a customer that they never got their tracking info for an order. Order confirmation emails were virtually always delivered, but shipment confirmation emails seemed to be a bit hit-or-miss. To fix this, I’ve added an additional set of shipment notification emails from a different system than I’ve been using.
This means that you should get an order confirmation email when you place your order, as has always been the case, and then you’ll receive an email from a different system with your tracking information and the contents of that shipment. Multiple shipments for a single order is not uncommon, so if you order more than one item and don’t see everything from your order listed in the shipment confirmation email, please keep in mind that there will be another shipment or two for the rest of the items.
End of Year Gift Card Promotion
I’m trying out something completely new [to Redpants] by having a gift card promotion to close out the year. I haven’t been able to do much “creative” work in a month or two because of all the other stuff I’ve had to deal with and just designing the gift cards was a lot of fun and, as simple as they are, it felt great to do something more right-brained.
There’s nothing extra you need to do - just place an order and if it qualifies for a gift card, you’ll get one included in your order or sent to you separately, depending on where the order ships from. Check out the Promotions page for more information.
Product Updates
Garage Sale listings have returned to the Redpants Online Store. These are temporary listings for items with limited inventory at Redpants that I don’t intend to restock once they sell out. It turns out I didn’t get updated pricing from Wilwood for their brake rotor kits and had them listed far too low. If you ordered a set from me recently, congrats! You saved a ton of money. I ended up paying more for these than my customers did… so the statement “my loss is your gain” is quite literal in this case. Pricing was increased for 2021, and was just increased again for 2022, so you’ll see a big jump now compared to what they had been. The same applies to their rebuild kits.
I actually have quite a bit more inventory in stock than I have listed for sale, and I’m slowly getting it added in. For example, I’ve added a listing for engine intake filters for 2nd Century cars (like the DB11 and New Vantage), but still need to make listings for the Oil Change Kits for those cars. I’ll get there… eventually.
