Windshield Wiper Replacement DIY Guide

Replacing the windshield wipers is a basic task to do on any car, but there’s a slight catch on Aston Martins: The hood blocks the wiper arm from being able to lift away from the windshield far enough for the wiper blade to be removed. It’s actually really easy to get around this, but you have to know the specific instructions to do it. This DIY Guide shows how it’s done.
Needed
New windshield wiper blades
- RH wiper blade
- LH wiper blade
About 15 minutes
Before You Begin
The wiper blades are only “handed” based on orientation of the driver seat. The right-hand and left-hand are for LHD cars (like the US). The same wiper blades are used on RHD cars, but they switch sides. So, you still order both wiper blades regardless of whether you have a RHD or LHD car.
If that’s confusing, just order both wiper blades and set the new ones against your old ones (before taking them off the car) to see which side the new ones go on.
Step 1
While holding the 8 and 9 buttons on the infotainment control panel, turn the ignition key from 'O' to position 'II'. This will bring the wiper blades out from under the hood so you can change them. When the wipers have stopped in position, return the key to the 'O' position.
Step 2
Lift the wiper arm up and remove the wiper blade. Install the new wiper blade and set the wiper arm back down.
Step 3
Repeat Step 2 for the other side.
Step 4
To return the arms to their default position, either move the key back to position 'II' or operate the wiper stalk.
